The main reason for modelling this locomotive was to try to make gears. There is an external downloadable addon “Gear” that makes the making of gears really easy in FreeCAD.
Certain parts were modelled as one part. This was done because of a limited amount of RAM (8 GB). Naturally, a merging of different parts isn’t a right way to model things. Nevertheless, it seems that the model loads a little bit faster when all parts are added to one assembly instead of using several sub-assenblies.
The assembly consists of 71 different parts.
